Role Overview

We are seeking reliable, motivated, and committed Social Care Workers to join our Count Me In Day Service located in Castlebar. This role involves supporting young autistic individuals with their personal development in social inclusion, educational endeavors, employment, and other life areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Adopt a person-centered methodology tailored to each participant’s unique needs.
• Create individualized plans that align with the goals of each participant.
• Empower participants to achieve their objectives in an integrated and inclusive setting.
• Encourage equality, community involvement, and inclusion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, families, advocates, and the community.
• Provide one-on-one mentoring to support participant growth.
• Utilize knowledge of autism-informed practices where applicable.
• Contribute actively to local service planning to meet evolving service needs.
• Offer personal care and practical assistance as needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment aligned with organizational policies on dignity at work and health and safety.
• Support individuals showing challenging behaviors with proactive, positive approaches according to best practices.

• Proficient IT skills.

Qualification Requirements

• Either possession of CORU registration to practice as a Social Care Worker, or
• Hold a qualification recognized by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU, including approved, Schedule 3, or sufficiently relevant qualifications,
• With ongoing registration application confirmation submitted when applicable.

Additional Requirements

• Possession of a valid full driving license is mandatory.
• Applicants must undergo Garda Vetting and reference verification.
• Non-EU applicants must have appropriate work authorization; documentation must accompany the application.
• Applicants having resided outside the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland for over six months since age 16 must provide Overseas Police Clearance.

• The role offers a salary on the Social Care Worker pay scale ranging from €36,381 to €54,744 annually, based on full-time 39-hour workweeks.
