Position Overview

Within the New Business & Technology Development Center (DUSAT) in Düsseldorf, a vacancy exists for an External Relations Manager starting 1st October 2026. This is a permanent full-time role requiring 38.5 working hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on worldwide trends and developments.
  • Establish and nurture robust relationships with government bodies, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of geopolitical, economic, and industry trends to offer practical recommendations for senior management.
  • Design and implement external relations strategies that align with corporate goals.
  • Deliver strategic briefings and detailed reports to the senior management team.
  • Act as the company's representative at various external forums including meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Identify and analyze emerging trends influencing markets, industries, and supply chains.
  • Evaluate geopolitical risks, such as trade regulations, sanctions, conflicts, and elections, and assess their impacts on business operations.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to inform internal stakeholders.
  • Provide support to the international intelligence team within the organization.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrate professional experience in external affairs, public affairs, consulting, or research.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and competency in managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Capable of translating complex developments into clear, actionable insights.
  • Show resilience and an ability to handle pressure when managing complex assignments.
  • Maintain an independent, well-structured, and solution-focused approach to work.
  • Display high levels of self-motivation, ownership, dependability, and integrity.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English at a business level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Have a passion for collaborating within international and diverse teams.
  • Prepared to travel primarily across Europe as part of the role.
