About the Program

Babcock Australia & New Zealand is inviting Expressions of Interest for its 2027/2028 Early Careers Program. This initiative offers diverse pathways enabling individuals to jumpstart their careers, gain practical experience, and enhance their knowledge and skills. Whether joining as a graduate in 2028 or as a summer intern in 2027, participants will acquire valuable experience to support success in their chosen fields.

Opportunities and Experience

Participants will have the chance to work across various projects and disciplines, expand professional networks, and contribute significantly to Babcock’s growth within Defence. The program serves as a talent pipeline fueling future business expansion with roles available throughout Australasia in the following areas:

  • Engineering
  • Project Management
  • Procurement & Supply Chain
  • Environmental & Sustainability

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligibility for New Zealand Defence Security Clearance is mandatory.
  • Graduate Program candidates must be in the final year of a university degree or have completed their degree or master’s by 2027.
  • Internship Program applicants should be in their penultimate year of relevant study.

Additional Information

This expression of interest is not a formal application and candidates will be informed when application processes officially open in 2027. Candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, but must be legally authorized to work in New Zealand and able to obtain NZDF Security Clearance.

Roles involve handling or exposure to US export-controlled technology, thus compliance with US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) will be evaluated.

Successful candidates may undergo pre-employment checks including but not limited to reference verification, Ministry of Justice and security clearances, qualifications, and right to work validations.
