Job description
About the Role
Join a collaborative team working on premium residential developments as an experienced graduate architect and client-side assistant project manager. This position covers the complete project journey, beginning with concept development and continuing through to final construction completion. You will represent the client, working day to day with architects, consultants, suppliers, contractors, and other project stakeholders. The role is primarily office-based, with around two-thirds of your time spent in the office and the remaining one-third devoted to site inspections.
Core Responsibilities
You will contribute to concept and schematic design so that the project direction matches client expectations, and you will help prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications while upholding strong standards for design quality and innovation.
Your work will also include shaping project briefs and scopes of work for both design and construction phases, coordinating with residential clients, consultants, and contractors, and keeping design and documentation deliverables aligned with key milestones. You will serve as the main contact for project queries and make sure follow-up happens promptly.
In addition, you will assist with tender preparation, bid comparison, and contract awards. The role includes contract administration tasks such as responding to RFIs, reviewing variation claims, and assessing progress claims, along with superintendent duties to help ensure the project stays compliant with contract requirements, budget expectations, and the agreed schedule.
Site involvement is a regular part of the position. You will visit sites to track progress and construction quality, work with contractors and trades to solve technical issues without compromising design intent, and support adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
You will also manage stakeholder communication by sharing updates and reports, maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors, and presenting design ideas and solutions clearly in both English and Chinese where possible.
Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or a closely related discipline is required, along with practical knowledge of local building codes and regulatory requirements.
Applicants should have 2 to 5 years of post-graduate experience in architecture, project coordination, or a related field, and should have worked on high-end residential projects.
Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills are important, as is a sharp eye for detail and a solid design sensibility. Experience with contract administration and superintendent responsibilities is also expected.
Proficiency in design and presentation tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite is desirable. The ability to manage several priorities and deadlines in a busy environment is essential. Bilingual ability in English and Chinese is highly preferred.
What We Offer
This role offers the chance to contribute to prestigious residential projects from initial concept through to completion. You will be part of a supportive, team-oriented workplace with scope for professional development through exposure to the full project lifecycle. The position also provides the opportunity to use and further strengthen bilingual skills, and remuneration will be competitive and aligned with experience.
