Job description
Position Overview
Guggenheim Securities is hiring an experienced Analyst for its Power, Utilities and Renewables Investment Banking group in London. This team advises on mergers and acquisitions as well as capital-raising transactions across a broad energy-related universe, including solar, wind, battery storage, conventional power generation, regulated utilities covering power, gas and water, advanced nuclear technologies, and energy efficiency and services.
The role offers the chance to work closely with small deal teams on major strategic and financing mandates, with regular exposure to senior bankers and client stakeholders. It is suited to high-performing professionals who enjoy a fast-moving, less structured environment and bring initiative, originality, professionalism, and a strong appetite for learning.
Core Responsibilities
- Build financial and accounting analyses to support the identification, research, and evaluation of M&A and financing opportunities.
- Take ownership of day-to-day project coordination and execution across advisory and financing transactions.
- Develop, maintain, and track sophisticated financial models for a wide range of corporate finance alternatives.
- Carry out valuation and financial analysis using both standard industry tools and proprietary models, while accounting for differences across accounting standards.
- Research companies, markets, and industry developments.
- Support and perform client due diligence.
- Draft information memoranda and other deal-related materials.
- Help prepare and present client-facing presentations, while working directly with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
- Coordinate with clients, legal advisors, accountants, and other transaction-related consultants.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrates strong maturity and can confidently interact with senior executives and top management teams.
- Stays highly organized and can work effectively with limited supervision.
- Shows strong analytical ability and close attention to detail.
- Brings excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Has solid process-management capability.
Qualifications
- An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or a closely related discipline from a leading university.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in investment banking, preferably in M&A or corporate finance, or equivalent corporate industry experience.
- Practical experience in financial modeling and valuation.
Work Arrangement
This position is based in the London office and is expected to be onsite at least 4 days each week.
