Role Overview

This senior leadership position involves managing ANZ's relationships with major institutional clients in New Zealand's Resources, Energy, and Infrastructure sectors. The role centers on supporting organizations crucial to the country's infrastructure and energy transition while fueling long-term economic growth.

Responsibilities

• Building and nurturing trusted partnerships with senior executives, boards, and decision-makers within the REI portfolio to position ANZ as a strategic partner.
• Identifying, creating, and executing growth opportunities aligned with customers' strategic goals and ANZ's sustainable returns.
• Leading complex engagements and transactions by coordinating specialists across Markets, Transaction Banking, Sustainable Finance, and Corporate Finance to deliver integrated solutions.
• Providing leadership in sector insights, aiding customers in adapting to industry evolution, investment trends, and emerging opportunities.
• Supporting customers through significant events such as infrastructure projects, capital investments, acquisitions, refinancing, and energy transition efforts.
• Ensuring disciplined credit management and governance to maintain portfolio performance aligned with ANZ's risk appetite.
• Driving sustainability initiatives by assisting customers with decarbonisation, transition planning, and sustainable finance.
• Mentoring colleagues and fostering collaboration to cultivate a high-performing culture and enhance enterprise-wide connectivity.

Candidate Profile

• Substantial experience in institutional banking with demonstrated leadership in managing large, intricate client relationships and achieving portfolio growth.
• Expertise in Resources, Energy, Infrastructure, or related industries, with knowledge of sector challenges, infrastructure investment, energy transition, and decarbonisation.
• Proven skills in deal origination and execution, structuring complex transactions that benefit both clients and ANZ.
• Strong commercial insight and risk management, including credit risk and balancing growth with disciplined governance.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder environments, building trust at senior levels.
• Excellent communication abilities to navigate complex topics, deliver strategic insights, and engage executive audiences effectively.
