About the Role

Queensland Treasury invites applications for the role of Executive Director, leading the Office of Social Impact. This role spearheads a prominent Queensland Government initiative focused on transforming social enterprise and impact investing to enhance community outcomes. The position involves guiding policy, program execution, and stakeholder relations, including oversight of the $20 million annual Social Entrepreneurs Fund. This leadership position provides a distinctive platform to shape state-wide priorities, foster partnerships across government and industry, and propel innovative solutions that fortify communities and generate enduring social benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the strategic planning and operational delivery of the Office of Social Impact and the Social Entrepreneurs Fund, ensuring their effective design, implementation, and sustained success.
  • Champion the creation and execution of Queensland’s roadmap for social enterprise and impact investment.
  • Forge and enhance significant partnerships within government, industry, philanthropic organizations, and the social enterprise sector.
  • Represent Queensland Treasury in senior-level forums, fostering collaborative approaches to address complex societal and economic challenges.
  • Provide expert strategic counsel to the Treasurer, Under Treasurer, and senior executives on crucial policy and investment issues.
  • Lead and manage a high-caliber team, overseeing governance, procurement processes, and key stakeholder engagement.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Proven executive leadership skills with experience managing complexity, facilitating consultation, and leading change effectively.
  • Highly developed political insight and the ability to establish credibility and influence at the highest organizational levels.
  • Substantial experience building strategic relationships within social enterprise, impact investing, or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging partnerships to achieve coordinated and impactful outcomes.
  • Track record of driving innovation, continuous improvement, and outstanding organizational performance.
  • Successful delivery of complex programs with integrity and results-oriented leadership.

Qualifications

While no formal qualifications are mandatory, relevant educational credentials will be regarded favorably.
