About Destination Tomorrow

Destination Tomorrow (DT) is a national grassroots LGBTQ+ organization founded in the Bronx. It is committed to ensuring individuals can access necessary services within their own neighborhoods, avoiding emergency care pathways by fostering growth through comprehensive educational, financial, mental health, and housing programs. DT serves communities in The Bronx, New York City; Atlanta, GA; and Washington, D.C.

Position Overview

The Executive Director of Operations (ED Ops) leads the organization's enterprise infrastructure, translating strategic goals into operational frameworks. Working closely with the CEO and CSO, the ED Ops builds internal capacity, accountability systems, analytics, compliance, and risk governance to support sustainable organizational growth and excellence across multiple sites. This role focuses on transitioning workforce and process management from ad hoc implementations to standardized, enforceable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an executive operating rhythm that integrates strategic initiatives, revenue drives, and major milestones, reducing siloed efforts.
  • Implement standardized governance, reporting, and accountability mechanisms across all operational and programmatic leadership.
  • Create executive dashboards featuring performance data, risk overviews, workforce indicators, incorporated into quarterly business reviews, board reports, and risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to translate multi-year strategic plans into detailed operational roadmaps covering staffing, facilities, technology, systems, and budget sustainability.
  • Lead the creation and standardization of an operational model to replicate DT’s community-based approach across new locations and client sites, ensuring integration of housing program requirements.
  • Maintain enterprise-wide operating manuals covering site security, clinical operations, onboarding, and procedures, allowing for location-specific adaptations.
  • Design core operational protocols for new program rollouts, location openings, procurement, IT implementations, and cross-organization initiatives.
  • Oversee corporate facilities management and infrastructure, managing regional office operations consistently, while coordinating with Social Services on housing facilities.
  • Act as the primary Enterprise Risk Manager, consolidating and monitoring risks across financial, operational, compliance, and reputational areas, facilitating quarterly risk reviews, and escalating significant risks to the CEO and Board.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in IT security, data privacy, facility safety, contracts, and organizational insurance.
  • Manage enterprise IT strategy, ensuring scalability, cybersecurity, CRM usage, and data analytics infrastructure align with growth and governance needs.
  • Supervise analytics and data reporting, sustaining dashboards for executive decision-making, risk management, financial planning, and program evaluation.
  • Coordinate workforce planning in line with organizational growth, collaborating with HR on staffing models, performance management, and policy compliance across locations.
  • Oversee operational expense forecasting, optimizing resource use and aligning financial planning with overall budgets and sustainability efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Operations Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of advancing leadership experience in operations with at least 5 years at a senior leadership level managing multi-site or enterprise operations.
  • Proven track record in building scalable operational systems, standardizing procedures, and driving organizational growth and transformation.
  • Expertise in strategic and operational planning, enterprise risk management, compliance, and cross-departmental leadership.
  • Experience managing IT, data analytics, facility operations, and organizational infrastructure.
  • Strong financial skills in budgeting, forecasting, and operational resource management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder influencing abilities; adept at promoting accountability.
  • Project management experience including leading complex, cross-functional projects; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Background in nonprofit, healthcare, human services, or mission-driven organizations preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $135000 to $155000 annually, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Paid sick leave and vacation time.
  • Meaningful opportunity to impact LGBTQ+ communities, especially Black and Brown trans and gender-expansive individuals.
  • Align personal values with professional expertise in community-rooted affirming services.
