About the Role
The Amazon Workplace Health and Safety division is seeking an Executive Assistant to support a Director of Safety Engineering within their Bellevue, WA office. This role offers the opportunity to contribute in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment dedicated to enhancing workplace safety. As an Executive Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in enabling a senior leader to expand their impact across Amazon by managing complex calendars, coordinating events, and facilitating efficient executive operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate dynamic, multi-time zone executive schedules with discretion and diplomacy.
- Organize a diverse range of events including weekly staff meetings, recurring business reviews, off-site sessions, and large organizational gatherings.
- Monitor and track critical deliverables and follow-ups emerging from leadership meetings.
- Develop strong partnerships across safety leadership, operations, HR, legal teams, and other stakeholders, acting as a trusted liaison within the organization.
- Drive improvements in team efficiency by optimizing processes related to leadership reviews, onboarding, distribution list management, and maintenance of team resources.
- Arrange domestic and international travel logistics and assist with managing expense reports.
Typical Day
Begin your day by reviewing and resolving calendar conflicts to set a strategic pace. Mid-morning involves coordinating across time zones and preparing materials essential for leadership reviews, directly influencing team presentations. Afternoons are flexible and reactive, managing last-minute scheduling changes and urgent priorities. Responsibilities may include planning future summits or resolving immediate logistical issues.
About The Team
This team is dedicated to ensuring safety in Amazon's facilities and equipment for all personnel. It consists of engineers, technical experts, and safety professionals engaged throughout the entire lifecycle of facility and equipment safety—ranging from design and construction to ongoing maintenance and operation. The team collaborates with multiple Amazon groups to mitigate risk through design influence, standards development, and data-informed decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years senior-level leadership support experience or 3 years at Amazon.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience utilizing generative AI tools to enhance workplace productivity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills tailored to executive leaders.
- Proven ability to manage projects independently.
- Capability to multitask effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Background supporting leaders in safety, operations, or compliance-focused settings.
- Familiarity with regular business review cycles and annual strategic planning.
- Experience identifying workflow inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is between 82,700 and 129,800 USD per year. In addition to base pay, compensation includes sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units.
