Job description
About the role
This opportunity sits at the heart of the Finance and Transformation directorate, where you’ll provide executive support to the CFO and the wider leadership group. The role is central to keeping priorities organised, actions moving, and communication flowing across a busy environment.
You’ll work in a fast-moving setting with broad exposure to senior stakeholders and day-to-day business activity. The position is varied, influential, and suited to someone who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to multiple workstreams.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and resolve customer matters on behalf of senior leaders, ensuring prompt responses and proper follow-up.
- Partner with Internal Communications to help deliver a consistent stream of directorate updates that align with wider company messaging.
- Monitor compliance-related activity and important achievements across the directorate to keep delivery on track.
- Draft and submit reports where required, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Organise demanding calendars and coordinate meetings and events for the Director and leadership team.
- Keep the Director’s office operating smoothly by bringing order to shifting and competing priorities.
- Contribute to, and at times lead, projects that help move business activity forward.
- Develop effective working relationships with external stakeholders and ensure strong communication and follow-through.
- Bring together members of the leadership team to support joined-up decision-making and collaboration.
- Plan and run both virtual and face-to-face events, ranging from team meetings to larger forums.
- Capture minutes and notes clearly and accurately.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency, including automation where appropriate.
- Work closely with key business partners to support aligned and coordinated delivery.
What you’ll bring
You should be highly organised, confident in planning and prioritising, and comfortable coping with frequent change. The role calls for someone who can work across teams, understand how processes and systems connect, and remain steady under pressure.
Discretion is important, as you will handle sensitive information and support senior stakeholders. A thoughtful, adaptable communicator who can tailor messages to different audiences will be well suited to this position.
You’ll also need to be proactive, practical, and comfortable using Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Confidence working with Director-level and Management Committee stakeholders is important.
Experience required
- A proven history of working successfully with colleagues and/or customers.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and respond flexibly when circumstances change.
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence in navigating processes.
- Experience delivering results within a large or complex organisation.
- Prior experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar senior support role.
What’s offered
The role comes with more than just pay. From your first day, you’ll have access to travel benefits including unlimited basic and premium standby tickets on British Airways flights, plus up to 30 discounted Hotline fares each year for you, friends, and family.
You’ll also have opportunities to grow and move across the business, with encouragement to explore future roles that support your development and progression.
Inclusion and diversity
The organisation is committed to building an inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds feel they belong and can bring their individuality, creativity, and identity to work. Diversity is viewed as a driver of innovation and an important part of the company’s ongoing journey.
