Job description
Role overview
This position is for an International A-Level Information Technology Examiner responsible for assessing candidate responses against the approved mark scheme while following recognition requirements and exam procedures. Most marking is completed onscreen through ePEN, which can be done from home, although some subjects are still assessed on paper scripts delivered by post. Key responsibilities
- Assess work carefully and consistently so that marking standards remain reliable across all scripts.
- Send sample scripts to the Team Leader at the required checkpoints.
- Complete marking within the stated milestones and timelines.
- Finish all required administrative tasks exactly as instructed.
Experience and qualifications
- A minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience in the relevant qualification and subject is required.
- A degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Alternatively, candidates with lecturer experience should have a degree or equivalent and at least one year of undergraduate teaching experience within the last 3 years.
Competencies
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Capability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong knowledge of the subject to interpret and apply the mark scheme correctly.
Additional information
The marking window runs from May to July. Examiner training is scheduled between May and June.
