Role Overview
Peak Construction Group seeks a skilled Estimator based in Toronto, Ontario, with a focus on the civil construction sector. The selected individual will play a vital role in formulating precise and competitive project bids, requiring at least two years of relevant estimating experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret project documentation to fully grasp the scope and requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs to develop comprehensive cost assessments for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to gather necessary pricing data.
- Contribute to bid proposal preparation, ensuring adherence to all project specifications.
- Evaluate project costs and forecast budgets, recommending cost-effective alternatives when possible.
- Participate in project meetings to report on estimating progress and scheduling.
- Update and maintain a database containing cost and pricing details for future reference.
- Keep informed on current industry methods, materials, and trends to improve estimating accuracy.
Candidate Qualifications
- At least two years' experience estimating in the civil construction field.
- Strong numerical and analytical capabilities.
- Familiarity with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional communication and organizational proficiencies.
- Ability to perform under pressure and comply with tight deadlines.
- Post-secondary education related to the field is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring estimate accuracy.
