Estimator - Structural Steelwork

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for structural steel projects.
• Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
• Quantify steelwork requirements and estimate labor, materials, and subcontractor expenses.
• Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options at the tender stage.
• Assist in transferring successful bids to project delivery teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in estimating structural steelwork projects.
• Strong skills in interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Good knowledge of steel fabrication and erection methodologies.
• Experience preparing competitive tenders specifically for structural steel.
• Commercially astute with high attention to detail.
• Capacity to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Desirable: Experience liaising directly with clients, engineers, and main contractors.
• Familiarity with estimating software and digital takeoff tools is a plus.
• Exposure to sectors such as commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects is advantageous.
