Senior Cost Estimator - Hybrid and Renewables

Overview

Become part of Aggreko's innovative team as a Senior Cost Estimator specializing in hybrid and renewable energy projects. Located primarily in Perth, with opportunities across Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, this role focuses on crafting precise and competitive cost projections for hybrid power initiatives involving components like diesel or gas power stations, solar farms, Battery Energy Storage Systems, or wind farms.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive research and assess costs for materials, labor, equipment, and other essential resources for project estimates.
• Analyze actual costs from ongoing and completed projects to inform accurate budgeting.
• Manage tender processes to select suitable suppliers and subcontractors.
• Participate in evaluating the value of emerging renewable energy technologies.
• Deliver timely, detailed, and precise project cost estimates.
• Continuously enhance cost estimation methodologies by integrating feedback and best practices.
• Prepare detailed Scope of Works critical for construction subcontractor contracts.
• Provide management support for early project work agreements as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of five years’ experience in project cost estimating, with a strong emphasis on electrical estimating within renewables, large-scale construction, or related sectors.
• Preferably experienced with solar farm developers, battery contractors, or major renewable energy project contractors, either locally or internationally.
• Proficient with Pronamics estimating software.
• Experience in project management and delivery.
• Skilled in developing accurate and comprehensive capital cost projections.
• Capable of identifying and challenging inefficient work practices and influencing stakeholders to foster improvements.
• Comfortable working within a geographically dispersed, global organizational structure.
• Demonstrates high accountability and credibility in professional conduct.
