Job description
Role overview
This position sits within the bus operations control environment in Dubai and focuses on day-to-day monitoring of station and bus-related activities, compliance, safety, cleanliness, and service quality. The role requires constant presence across bus stations and direct coordination with the control center and operations supervisor.
Key accountabilities
- Observe bus drivers’ conduct in the field across bus stations and right-of-way areas.
- Remain available on a 24/7 basis across all bus stations as required by the operation.
- Carry out additional duties connected to the role whenever needed.
- Oversee RTA assets and make sure they are not used by unauthorized persons.
- Enforce rules by issuing fines to offenders in line with approved instructions, regulations, and procedures.
- Track investors and strategic stakeholders on a daily basis to ensure agreed tasks are completed.
- Apply management instructions, circulars, and service change orders as received.
- Verify that buses and station facilities are cleaned daily according to the approved bus-washing program.
- Coordinate closely with the control center regarding bus schedules, accident reporting, and any service disruption affecting station operations and service efficiency.
- Escalate observations from drivers and customers about station services to the operations supervisor for review and clarification.
- Receive feedback and findings from drivers and customers at stations and forward them to the relevant department through the proper process.
- Share any improvement ideas or service-quality concerns with the direct operations supervisor.
- Provide field training and practical support to new bus-station staff so they can deliver better customer service.
- Monitor health and safety procedures, along with all station equipment.
Qualifications and skills
The role requires a secondary-school education and 0 to 2 years of work experience. Candidates must be fluent in English for reading, writing, and speaking; Arabic is considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should communicate clearly, listen well, work effectively with others, be computer-literate, and handle customer and colleague relationships professionally.
