Job description
Job Overview
We are looking for a diligent and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to oversee and promote the enforcement of EHS standards across our project sites. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to local laws and internal policies while fostering a culture of safety and minimizing risks at the workplace.
Key Duties
- Enforce and oversee Environment, Health, and Safety procedures and policies effectively.
- Conduct frequent site inspections, safety audits, and risk evaluations.
- Maintain compliance with Saudi Arabian EHS laws, company guidelines, and relevant international standards.
- Investigate workplace incidents including accidents and near misses, proposing corrective and preventive solutions.
- Deliver safety orientation, conduct toolbox meetings, and provide EHS training for staff and contractors.
- Compile and update EHS documentation, including reports, inspection logs, incident records, and compliance files.
- Ensure correct usage of personal protective equipment and adherence to safe work practices.
- Identify hazards in the workplace and implement strategies for risk reduction.
- Assist in emergency readiness, including organizing drills and preparing emergency response plans.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to enhance health, safety, and environmental outcomes continuously.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Have at least three years of pertinent EHS experience in sectors such as construction, industry, energy, manufacturing, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of Saudi EHS regulations and international safety standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
- Exhibit strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Preferred Certifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
- IOSH Managing Safely
- OSHA 30-Hour (General Industry or Construction)
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Additional HSE certifications will be viewed favorably.
