Role Summary

This full-time position based in Abu Dhabi involves working on-site as a Senior Health Safety Specialist / Manager. The role focuses on ensuring alignment with environmental and workplace safety laws, performing environmental and safety evaluations, shaping and enforcing EHS policies, delivering training on safety procedures, and overseeing the efficiency of safety protocols within operational environments. Collaboration across teams to nurture a safety-oriented and eco-friendly organizational culture is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Guarantee adherence to UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations, labor legislation, and corporate safety criteria.
• Carry out daily inspections, identify hazards, and perform risk assessments on-site.
• Manage implementation processes for Permit to Work, confined space protocols, and safe work methods.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and awareness initiatives.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, proposing necessary corrective measures.
• Maintain comprehensive EHS documentation, including reports and records.
• Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• Encourage and sustain a constructive safety culture throughout all operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Between 7 and 10 years total experience in health, safety, and environment (HSE) roles.
• Preferably 5 to 7 years of relevant experience within the UAE context.
• A Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
• EHS certifications such as NEBOSH and other Level 6 Diplomas.
• Certification or eligibility as a Senior Safety Practitioner recognized by ADOSH.
• Lead Auditor credentials for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
• In-depth understanding of workplace occupational health and safety to maintain compliance and safeguard employee welfare.
• Strong expertise in EHS systems, processes, and safety training program development.
• Capability to conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure compliance with both local laws and company policies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate within diverse teams.
• Knowledge of both local and international EHS regulations will be advantageous.
• Membership in professional bodies such as IOSH, IIRSM, or CSP is considered a plus.
