Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager

Role Overview

Join Innophos as an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager responsible for leading comprehensive site-wide safety, health, and environmental initiatives. The role ensures strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards through development and management of policies, training, and inspections.

Primary Duties

• Oversee and coordinate EHS programs ensuring regulatory compliance across the site.
• Create, enforce, and update EHS policies, procedures, and employee training modules.
• Perform safety inspections, risk assessments, and conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis investigations on incidents, injuries, and near misses.
• Administer environmental permits and guarantee timely submission of all required regulatory reports.
• Manage the Hazard Communication (HAZCOM) program including Safety Data Sheet (SDS) control and chemical inventory oversight.
• Collaborate with leadership on Workers Compensation claims, insurance issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Promote Process Safety Management (PSM) practices and support ongoing improvements in safety and environmental operations.
• Conduct regular EHS training sessions, safety meetings, and engage employees to build a safety-focused organizational culture.
• Maintain the EHS Information Management System to ensure data integrity, task completion, and proper reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environment, Health and Safety, Engineering, or related technical field.
• At least 10 years of experience in a health and safety position within a manufacturing setting, ideally in chemical or food production.
• Hands-on experience with air, water, and waste permits and corresponding compliance activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or 40-Hour HAZWOPER are preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local environmental laws.
• Proven skills in managing EHS programs in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Competence conducting Root Cause Analysis and instituting effective corrective and preventive measures.
• Strong team collaboration abilities and leadership qualities.
• Excellent communication skills suitable for interaction across multiple organizational levels.
• Capability to maintain composure and respond suitably during incident management.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills fostering relationship-building and cooperative problem resolution.
