Role Summary

The Environmental Graphic Designer II position at CannonDesign is ideal for a creative and meticulous professional passionate about elevating physical environments through visual storytelling. This role collaborates with prominent global brands across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, and sports to bring brand identity and messaging to life within spatial experiences. Working within the Experiential Graphic Design team, the designer partners closely with interior designers, architects, and project stakeholders to create inspiring graphics that foster emotional connections with spaces. The successful candidate will be technically skilled, curious, and motivated to produce distinctive spatial designs that align with the Living-Centered Design ethos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in all design phases from initial concept through to final artwork production.
  • Convert client goals and messages into visually compelling concepts aligned with their mission.
  • Develop storyboards, detailed designs, and fabrication-ready artwork to facilitate project delivery.
  • Create intricate graphics for a variety of media including signage, wayfinding, exhibits, and environmental branding.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for graphic programs, signage systems, donor acknowledgment, and interpretive exhibits under guidance.
  • Produce camera-ready art suitable for fabrication and installation.
  • Collaborate actively in team discussions, contribute constructive feedback, and participate in design evaluations.
  • Utilize digital modeling to prepare visualizations and mockups that clearly express design intentions.
  • Work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure coordinated project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, or related design discipline.
  • At least four years of professional experience in graphic design, environmental graphics, or a related field.
  • A versatile and strong portfolio demonstrating capability across various markets and media.
  • Advanced skills in typography and visual communication.
  • Proficient use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign on Mac systems.
  • Bonus: Working knowledge of Revit and SketchUp.
  • Experience in 3D design, wayfinding systems, exhibition design, and environmental graphics.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and well-developed organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills suitable for a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
