Role Summary

We are seeking an Environmental and Sustainability Site Specialist to lead environmental and sustainability initiatives during the construction of the Mt Munro Wind Farm. This full-time, three-year fixed-term position is site-based, focused on ensuring compliance with resource consent conditions, managing onsite environmental standards, and supporting the project team to deliver sustainable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement resource consent requirements across all project aspects including construction environmental management plans and operational procedures.
• Oversee environmental and sustainability compliance on site, including monitoring, reporting, and responding to any issues according to Meridian policies.
• Coordinate and manage technical specialists related to environmental project components.

Candidate Profile

• At least five years of relevant site or construction experience in environmental and sustainability management.
• Proven ability to manage contractors and conduct onsite monitoring and supervision activities.
• Strong commitment to environmental stewardship and reducing the carbon footprint of construction projects.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori principles, tikanga, and Mana Whenua.
• Familiarity with New Zealand's environmental and sustainability construction sector, including risk management strategies.
• Preparedness and confidence to navigate challenging outdoor environments using 4WD vehicles, adaptable to harsh weather conditions.
• Residency within commuting distance of the Mt Munro Wind Farm for onsite accessibility.
