About the Role
Kraft Heinz seeks an experienced Environment Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead the EHS efforts at its Northgate manufacturing and national distribution facility in Queensland. Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the site's EHS performance, reporting results directly to site leadership.
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of the site’s EHS management system, ensuring all departments consistently apply effective safety controls.
- Ensure comprehensive compliance with all applicable EHS legislation, internal policies, and standards, maintaining thorough documentation as proof of due diligence.
- Effectively identify and assess EHS risks, develop targeted risk reduction strategies to prevent incidents, and minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate and deliver the site-wide EHS audit programs, follow up on corrective actions until resolution, and verify their effectiveness.
- Analyze EHS performance metrics, including leading and lagging indicators, providing actionable insights to leadership to foster continual improvements.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, including drills and post-event evaluations to enhance readiness.
- Support business continuity and operational risk planning efforts, including facility security measures where applicable.
- Collaborate with operational teams to embed safe work practices, promote safety leadership, and enforce accountability throughout the organization.
- Oversee EHS-related cost-saving initiatives by proposing practical, risk-informed solutions supported by solid business cases.
Candidate Profile
- Significant leadership experience in Environmental Health & Safety within manufacturing or distribution settings.
- Strong familiarity with relevant EHS regulations and ability to demonstrate compliance through documentation.
- Proven skills in risk assessment, prioritization, and effective control implementations that reduce safety incidents.
- Experience managing EHS audit processes and driving corrective actions to completion.
- Comfortable analyzing EHS data trends to prioritize actions and communicate clearly with senior management.
- Hands-on involvement in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and continuous improvement processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management capabilities, including influencing leadership and fostering a safe workplace culture.
- Competence in managing contractor safety and high-risk activities through planning, permits, and monitoring.
- Effective communicator skilled at delivering technical guidance and training across diverse teams.
- Highly organized, ethical, and resilient with the judgement to balance operational demands against risk mitigation.
