About the Role
Design Build Search is hiring an Environment Health Safety Lead based in Limerick City Centre, specializing in supporting commercial construction projects. This key role involves ensuring that all safety-related matters on projects adhere to stringent standards. The position requires close collaboration with Site Managers, Project Managers, and related project personnel within a leading construction company known for its robust safety management systems and a strong portfolio of landmark projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct audits and risk assessments at workplaces in accordance with applicable safety legislation and standards.
- Perform weekly safety inspections and audits across construction sites.
- Maintain detailed records and report using the company’s online Environment Health and Safety (EHS) system.
- Monitor the health and safety performance of the Business Unit and prepare relevant performance reports.
- Support tender and prequalification teams by advising on health and safety submissions and offering practical safety solutions.
- Identify personal and team learning and development needs, coaching staff at all organizational levels on health and safety standards.
- Apply working knowledge of ISO and HSQE regulations relevant to construction.
Candidate Requirements
- Substantial experience in health and safety roles within principal contractor settings, handling both residential and commercial construction projects.
- Possession of a third-level qualification in health and safety or occupational health and safety.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
- Holder of a full driving license with the ability to drive for work-related duties.
