Role overview
This position is for an outbound business development professional who will help open the US market through a focused enterprise prospecting strategy. The role reports to the Senior VP, Strategic Accounts & Partners and centers on starting first contact with enterprise prospects, creating qualified opportunities, and passing them to the sales team for the next steps.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Senior VP, Strategic Accounts & Partners by building a consistent pipeline of qualified enterprise opportunities.
- Contact enterprise prospects through cold calling and convert initial conversations into qualified meetings.
- Use LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify important stakeholders and execute targeted cold email outreach designed to generate replies.
- Help expand the business into new markets, with primary attention on the US, by creating early momentum through outbound activity.
- Assess prospect needs and business pain points to determine enterprise-level qualification and ensure a smooth transition to the sales team for closing.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is a confident, self-driven communicator who enjoys outbound sales and can turn a cold introduction into a meaningful business discussion. Success in this role requires resilience, a target-oriented mindset, and a positive approach when facing rejection.
Experience and skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in outbound business development focused on enterprise accounts, or in a similar role such as lead development representative or demand generation representative.
- Hands-on experience with cold calling, cold emailing, and outbound prospecting, with the ability to convert early touchpoints into qualified meetings.
- Strong command of English at a native or first-language level for US English is mandatory.
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as HubSpot, sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, or Lemlist, and prospecting tools such as ZoomInfo, Lusha, or Apollo.
- Clear, professional communication and strong collaboration skills when engaging with stakeholders.
Work setup and schedule
This is a remote-first role open to candidates based in Mauritius. While work can be done from anywhere in Mauritius, regular in-person collaboration at the Floreal office is encouraged, usually once a week. The position follows CET working hours, with a schedule of 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM CET.
Compensation and benefits
- Remote-first employment arrangement with a 40-hour workweek.
- 22 paid leave days per year, increasing to 25 days from the second year, plus national holidays.
