Role overview

Glorious Stars International School is seeking an English Teacher for its Abuakwa-Tanoso school in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana. This is a full-time, on-site teaching position focused on delivering engaging English instruction that supports the school’s curriculum and learning goals.

What you will do

You will plan and teach lessons that build students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The role includes monitoring learner progress, giving helpful feedback, and ensuring a disciplined, supportive classroom environment. You will also prepare learning materials, adapt your teaching to suit different learner needs, and work closely with colleagues, parents, and guardians on student development.

Additional duties

Beyond classroom teaching, you will take part in staff meetings, school activities, and ongoing professional development sessions.

Qualifications and preferred background

The school is looking for someone with strong English teaching ability, good lesson-planning skills, and a solid foundation in education, including pedagogy and classroom management. Strong written and verbal communication is important. A teaching certificate or diploma in Education or English, along with previous classroom experience, would be an advantage. Familiarity with basic educational technology, the ability to teach diverse learners, patience, and cultural awareness are also preferred.
