Job description
Job Overview and Responsibilities
The PreK/Early Childhood Teacher will deliver instruction to assigned classes at designated locations and times, demonstrating punctuality and reliability. The role requires setting instructional objectives aligned with the Common Core Learning Standards, Early Learning Standards, and ECERS-R, consistent with the District #55 school improvement plan. You will create a classroom environment that fosters effective learning and high student performance, integrating suitable technology and differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Maintaining professional conduct is essential when interacting with students, staff, and stakeholders, including adhering to confidentiality guidelines. Regular evaluation and progress reporting of students are necessary, alongside maintaining accurate records as mandated by law and policy.
The teacher will be accessible to students and parents outside instructional hours upon reasonable request and must follow established procedures for routine tasks, conflict resolution, and school improvement participation. Enforcement of district policies, active participation in faculty and school improvement meetings, and collaboration with staff on planning are also important aspects of this role.
Other duties include assisting with textbook and materials selection, completing annual end-of-year checklists, maintaining compliance with Preschool for All monitoring and ECERS-R standards, and managing aides or student-teachers under supervision. The position may involve taking part in approved extracurricular activities and undertaking ongoing professional development. Additional duties may be assigned by District #55 administration and the Board of Education.
Qualifications and Expectations
