English Language Expert

Role Overview

This remote contractor position focuses on reviewing and improving AI-generated English content, as well as creating expert-level language examples when needed. You will assess responses for correctness, clarity, and alignment with the prompt, then provide specific, practical feedback that helps improve model quality. The work is hourly and remote, and it contributes to training data used by major AI companies and foundation-model teams.

The organization is a fast-growing AI data services company that supports AI training efforts for some of the world’s largest AI labs. Your language expertise will help make AI outputs more accurate, natural, and easier to understand.

What You Will Do

• Review AI-generated English responses and judge whether they are accurate, well-reasoned, and responsive to the prompt.
• Identify issues in logic, meaning, methodology, factual accuracy, and conceptual understanding.
• Fact-check information whenever verification is needed.
• Write clear explanations and corrected versions that demonstrate the proper method or better wording.
• Compare multiple AI outputs and rate them based on correctness and reasoning strength.
• Create detailed prompts on different topics and draft responses that can be used to improve AI learning.
• Test model outputs for errors, inconsistencies, and possible bias.
• Support model quality by improving fluency, precision, and contextual fit.

Candidate Profile

This role suits someone with advanced English-language expertise, strong editorial judgment, and the ability to work independently in a remote contractor setup across time zones.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline.

Additional Requirements

• Advanced command of English; C2 or native-level ability is preferred, and at least C1 level is required.
• Professional proficiency in at least one additional language is strongly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse structure, and style editing across different registers.
• Strong ability to spot subtle issues such as meaning drift, ambiguity, inconsistency, and other small errors, and explain fixes clearly.
• Comfort with applying style guides and maintaining consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to produce steady quality in an hourly remote contractor workflow.
• Prior work in AI data training, annotation, editorial quality assurance, localization QA, or professional copyediting is highly desirable.
• Practical experience using tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.
