Job description
Role overview
This is a remote contractor position focused on advanced English language quality work for AI systems. You will assess AI-produced English responses, draft expert-level language content when needed, and provide clear, practical feedback that helps improve model output. The work centers on judging accuracy, clarity, reasoning quality, and how well an answer follows the prompt. You may also need to verify facts, identify flaws in logic or understanding, and rewrite or improve explanations so they reflect the correct approach. In addition, you will compare multiple AI answers and score them based on correctness and reasoning strength.
The company is an AI data services provider that supports training data work for some of the world’s largest AI organizations and foundation model labs. Your English expertise will help make AI responses more natural, precise, and well-explained.
There is no active project attached to this role at the moment. If you meet the requirements, you may be contacted first when suitable assignments become available, and you may also gain access to future opportunities through the expert network.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated English answers and assess them for correctness, clarity, and alignment with the prompt.
- Identify mistakes in reasoning, meaning, methodology, conceptual understanding, or factual content.
- Check information for accuracy when verification is needed.
- Write strong explanations and revised versions that demonstrate the correct method or improved wording.
- Compare and rank multiple AI outputs based on quality of reasoning and overall correctness.
- Create detailed prompts on different topics and craft responses that support AI training.
- Evaluate AI outputs to improve fluency, accuracy, and contextual fit.
- Test models for errors, inconsistencies, and bias, and validate their reliability across use cases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, English, Translation/Localization, Communications, Journalism, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong English ability at C1 level or above; native-level or C2 proficiency is preferred.
- Professional knowledge of at least one additional language is a plus.
- Solid understanding of grammar, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse organization, and style editing.
- Excellent attention to detail, especially for ambiguity, meaning changes, inconsistencies, and subtle errors.
- Ability to explain corrections clearly and professionally in writing.
- Comfort working with style guides and maintaining consistency in tone, terminology, punctuation, and capitalization.
- Self-driven and dependable in an hourly remote contractor setup that may span multiple time zones.
- Prior exposure to AI data training, annotation, editorial QA, localization QA, or professional copyediting is strongly preferred.
- Practical experience with tools such as Perplexity, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar platforms.
