Job description

Role Overview

This position involves implementing and maintaining the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Management System at the Onshore Terminal in Gadimoga. The aim is to foster a strong HSE culture among all employees and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including the Integrated Management System (IMS) standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the execution of the HSE Management System at KGD6.
  • Develop procedures that align with updated standards and statutory directives.
  • Promote the application of HSE standards and procedures across operations.
  • Engage actively in risk management activities including Hazard Register updates, HAZID studies, and Bow Tie analysis.
  • Support the IMS framework implementation covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 throughout KGD6.
  • Contribute to safety reviews such as HAZOP, PSSR, SSSR, and MOC-T.
  • Lead incident investigations and manage incident reporting procedures using SAP EHS modules.
  • Plan and conduct safety training sessions, including Change Agent for Safety Health and Environment (CASHE) training.
  • Carry out HSE worksite inspections and audits (Permit to Work, Welding Procedure Specification, Contractor Safety Management) to identify and close gaps.
  • Organize and facilitate internal and external IMS audits and ensure prompt closure of any findings tracked through the Audit Management system.
  • Develop and participate in Emergency Response planning, conduct Level 1 mock drills, and monitor actions from these drills.
  • Coordinate monthly safety meetings for employees and contractors and oversee related safety awareness campaigns targeting staff and local communities.
  • Maintain effective communication by documenting and following up on meeting minutes and safety action items.
  • Liaise with statutory authorities during inspections and ensure timely submission of required reports as per regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Engineering graduate in Chemical, Petrochemical, Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines.
  • Diploma from RLI or Master’s degree in Industrial Safety.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or reputable construction company.
  • Designation as Notified Safety Officer by the Directorate of Industrial Safety, Andhra Pradesh is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 requirements.
  • Proficiency in Telugu language is essential.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations is desirable.
