Job description
Overall Job Responsibility
This role involves leading and managing a team dedicated to providing employment services for individuals with disabilities (PWDs). The primary focus is on facilitating job placements for clients facing significant placement challenges and enhancing the supply pipeline of PWDs. The position requires overseeing and coordinating efforts with PWD clients, employment partners, and employers to overcome placement barriers and optimize matching results. This includes directing job matching strategies, job carving techniques, and stakeholder collaboration to improve placement success for clients with complex needs.
The role also entails leading projects and initiatives aimed at better aligning PWDs with employer requirements, acting as a crucial link between job seekers and employers to improve placement outcomes at a systemic level.
Duties and Responsibilities
Employment Facilitation & Job Placement
- Direct the placement of PWDs, with a special emphasis on clients who are difficult to place due to intricate or specialized needs.
- Provide strategic direction for job matching and job carving methodologies, including collaborating with employers to identify, negotiate, and develop suitable job opportunities that align with client profiles.
- Guide the team in identifying effective placement pathways and strategies to enhance matching success.
- Implement proactive job development strategies, including the exploration of non-traditional employment roles.
- Monitor placement outcomes and identify systemic deficiencies to improve the effectiveness of job matching.
- Drive enhancements in workflows, processes, and placement strategies to achieve better placement results.
- Oversee the tracking of placement achievements and pinpoint areas for improvement in processes and workflows.
Partner & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead collaborations with employment partners to review challenging placement cases and jointly develop effective strategies.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Social Service Agencies (SSAs), employers, and other ecosystem partners to broaden job prospects.
- Oversee and guide regular case discussions and reviews with partners to monitor progress and drive desired outcomes.
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor the Employment Facilitation team to ensure efficient operations and alignment with team goals.
- Develop team members' expertise in managing complex and hard-to-place cases through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Foster a collaborative team environment to effectively address challenging client profiles and placement scenarios.
Projects & System-Level Improvements
- Spearhead pilot initiatives designed to enhance placement success rates.
- Conceptualize and execute projects or programs that better connect employer needs with PWD candidates, serving as a liaison between supply and demand.
- Drive improvements in the management of the PWD workforce supply, identifying gaps, trends, and opportunities to strengthen the overall pipeline.
Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience
- Requires a degree and 8-10 years of pertinent professional experience, ideally within employment services, social work, or client-focused roles.
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or disadvantaged populations is advantageous.
- Possesses strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to manage intricate and uncertain situations.
- Demonstrates resourcefulness and resilience, adopting a proactive stance to overcome employment placement obstacles.
- Comfortable and adept at engaging with employers and stakeholders, exhibiting strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
- Capable of managing numerous cases and diverse stakeholders within a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with the capacity to effectively track cases, outcomes, and follow-up actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is required.
