Job description
Role overview
In this position, you will work with employers to expand employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. The role focuses on building employer confidence and capability so that organizations can recruit, include, and retain employees with disabilities more effectively. You will also collaborate with persons with disabilities to review job profiles for referrals, and coordinate with government bodies and social service partners to support long-term disability-inclusive hiring practices.
Key responsibilities
- Create and execute business development and marketing approaches that encourage disability-inclusive hiring.
- Build relationships with influential “queen bee” companies so they can champion inclusive hiring within their industries.
- Target and engage potential employers at different senior levels, including General Manager and Vice President level, to generate interest in hiring persons with disabilities, using programmes, grants, and schemes such as the Open Door Programme administered by SG Enable.
- Design, manage, implement, and monitor customised hiring plans for employers to bring in persons with disabilities.
- Advise employers on improvements to their hiring and workplace practices in line with the Enabling Mark framework.
- Prepare engagement resources and consultancy materials related to disability employment for employers.
- Keep engagement documentation up to date and compile reports for management and other stakeholders.
- Assist in events organised by SG Enable or partner organisations.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A university degree in any field is required.
- At least 5 years of work experience is needed; background in business development or marketing will be an advantage.
- Comfortable with public speaking and partner engagement.
- Strong team orientation with good communication, interpersonal, and analytical abilities.
- Careful, thorough, and capable of handling administrative tasks accurately.
- Resourceful problem solver.
