About the Role
The Global Legal team at TikTok supports the company's cutting-edge projects, platforms, and products worldwide by providing comprehensive legal advice. The Global Employment Law unit gives strategic and actionable counsel on employment-related matters to both Human Resources and business divisions across various regions, including managing litigation cases wherever TikTok operates.
We are currently seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join our team covering the EMEA region. This position requires a proactive individual who can foster strong collaboration with HR and other key stakeholders. The position is based in Dublin or London offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted legal advisor to HR and business units, offering guidance on strategy, policy development, and employment practices across Ireland, the UK, and the broader EMEA area.
- Provide legal consultation on all employment relations aspects such as hiring, global mobility, workplace investigations, termination processes, and dispute resolution.
- Work alongside other legal professionals within the Global Legal team to deliver cohesive strategic advice, supporting both regional and global initiatives.
- Drive alignment with the company's ambitious growth by enabling risk-informed, business-centric solutions.
- Partner with HR to craft and revise policies, legal agreements, and operational procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Design and deliver internal training on various employment law topics to educate relevant teams.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Qualified legal practitioner in Ireland or the UK with over five years of experience.
- Significant expertise in employment law from either reputable private practice firms or corporate legal departments.
- Experience handling multi-jurisdictional employment law challenges for the EMEA region, including knowledge of collective labor rights such as union relations and works councils.
- Familiarity advising on GDPR issues and coordinating with data privacy experts.
- Exemplary judgment, personal integrity, interpersonal communication, and outstanding legal writing skills.
- Proven teamwork capabilities and an ability to interact effectively with global legal teams and business partners.
- Ability to manage a varied and changing workload, prioritizing tasks efficiently.
Preferred Experience
- Background in technology companies or rapidly growing enterprises.
- Experience working within large multinational corporations.
- Knowledge across related fields such as data privacy, immigration law, health and safety, and pensions.
