About the Role
Beneco is looking for an experienced Employment Consultant to join its expanding Canberra team in Russell, Australian Capital Territory. In this role, you will work alongside other consultants to achieve lasting, positive outcomes for clients. The workplace is described as inclusive, service-focused and highly collaborative.
Key Responsibilities
- Support jobseekers in developing practical, realistic career plans.
- Provide career guidance that helps clients become job-ready.
- Prepare professional resumes and cover letters.
- Deliver interview preparation and coaching.
- Prepare reports and updates for stakeholders.
- Connect with local businesses and potential employers to secure work placements.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of host employers.
- Help clients access vocational training opportunities.
- Independently manage a caseload of jobseekers.
About You
You should be motivated by making a real difference for clients and able to build strong relationships with people from varied backgrounds. The role suits someone who is organised, client-focused and comfortable working with employers, community organisations and jobseekers.
Required Experience and Attributes
- At least 12 months of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Background in roles with a strong customer-service focus.
- Capability to identify suitable employment opportunities for work-ready participants.
- Skill in developing and sustaining relationships with employers and community groups.
- Understanding of labour markets and employer requirements.
- Genuine commitment to helping people.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for addressing barriers to return to work.
- Full driver’s licence and access to a personal car.
- Positive attitude, with the ability to work hard and still enjoy a light-hearted team culture.
