About the opportunity
Beneco is seeking a Rehabilitation Consultant to join its expanding team on a contractor basis. Suitable applicants will come from an allied health background such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Rehabilitation Counselling, or Psychology, and must operate under their own proprietary limited ABN.
The position supports people recovering from injury and returning to work through a personalised, client-focused approach that prioritises health and wellbeing. You will manage a caseload that includes Workers Compensation, Motor Accidents Insurance Board (MAIB), Workcover TAS, and workplace health and safety assessments.
This role is based in Tasmania. Candidates located in Melbourne may also be considered if they are open to a FIFO arrangement to support service delivery across Tasmania.
What you will do
- Guide injured clients through their rehabilitation journey and support their recovery and return-to-work pathway.
- Use a person-centred approach to help individuals improve health and wellbeing after injury.
- Handle a portfolio of matters involving Workcover TAS and MAIB claims.
- Carry out initial needs assessments, worksite assessments, and vocational assessments.
- Work closely with employers, medical practitioners, and other allied health professionals.
- Pinpoint issues that may be delaying or preventing a return to work.
- Maintain accurate case notes and reports while applying sound clinical judgement.
- Develop and sustain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
- Support regional growth while maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
About you
The ideal candidate is a collaborative allied health professional who enjoys helping people achieve positive outcomes. Strong communication skills, integrity, a constructive attitude, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders are essential.
You should also bring at least 3 years of experience in occupational rehabilitation consulting, along with knowledge of Workcover TAS legislation. Injury Management Coordinator (IMC) registration with WorkSafe Tasmania is preferred, though not mandatory.
A university degree in Occupational Therapy, Rehabilitation Counselling, Psychology, Physiotherapy, or Exercise Physiology is required, and accreditation with AHPRA, ASORC, or ESSA is expected. A full driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle are also necessary.
