About the Role
As an Employment Consultant, you will work alongside Rehabilitation Consultants or Vocational Consultants to help people who have experienced injury or illness move into new employment.
This position is based from the Sydney or Miranda, NSW office and involves building employer networks, supporting placement activity, and assisting with job-readiness for injured workers.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to connect with host employers who can offer placements to injured workers taking part in SIRA programs, including volunteer-style or employee-style arrangements.
- Promote SIRA programs and any related incentives that may support placements.
- Prepare SIRA program and retraining applications for review and approval by an agent.
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, creating a strong database of organisations willing to host candidates.
- Travel to different client locations to strengthen employer relationships and grow the host employer network.
- Support injured workers with job skills training and develop resources that help them secure new employment.
- Work toward placement targets within required timeframes, such as arranging a work trial within 6 weeks of referral.
- Collaborate with the Head of New Employer Services to build supporting resources and contribute to the growth of the national service offering.
Requirements
- Strong telephone communication skills, along with solid sales and marketing capability.
- At least 6 months of experience in a call-based or sales role, with a history of meeting KPI targets.
- A resilient, persistent approach and the ability to stay focused on positive outcomes in challenging situations.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Knowledge of the NSW Workers' Compensation scheme is helpful, though not essential.
- Full working rights in Australia.
