- Developing trusted relationships and working with clients to design personalised job search plans.
- Providing one-to-one and group-based support in community settings.
- Working closely with families, carers, employers, and partner organisations.
- Planning interventions and tracking progress so support leads to lasting outcomes.
Purpose of the team
- Helping to remove barriers that prevent people from accessing employment.
- Promoting inclusion and fair access to opportunities across Coventry.
- Building flexible, responsive support approaches that empower residents.
What the council is looking for
- Awareness of the barriers faced by disabled people and others who struggle to access work or training.
- Experience of delivering support programmes and running group work.
- Confidence to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- A strong commitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required.
Benefits and support
- Competitive pay with incremental increases and salary matching.
- Annual leave starting at 28 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy more, rising to 33 days after 5 years of service.
- Access to a generous local government pension scheme.
- Discounts on a range of leisure activities and retailers.
- Flexible working options to support personal and professional needs.
- Employee networks including EmbRace, Pride, Disability, Young People, and Women.
- Confidential support through the Employee Assistance Programme.
- Certified training courses to support development and career growth.
