Job description

Role Overview

As a vital member of the Americas Employee Relations team, you will independently manage all Employee Relations processes from start to finish, including conducting investigations and managing disciplinary actions. Collaboration with the Central Investigations Function, Compliance, Legal, and the global ER team is essential to deliver optimal outcomes and ensure seamless operation. You will identify trends from investigations and disciplinary cases, presenting detailed analyses to senior leadership and committees. The role involves interacting across all organizational levels, developing and delivering targeted training, overseeing temporary paid leave during investigations, and contributing to global and regional strategic projects. By spearheading these efforts, you will play a key role in fostering cultural transformation within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive internal investigations into potential HR policy violations, such as harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, producing detailed reports for each case.
  • Chair disciplinary advisory groups and decision-making meetings to review investigation findings, perform regional and global calibrations, and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures.
  • Advise HR Business Partners and Advisors on investigations and disciplinary issues to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Analyze investigation outcomes to detect patterns, collaborating with HR teams to suggest preventative strategies addressing underlying issues.
  • Present updates, statistical data, and trend analyses to senior management and various stakeholders to drive cultural initiatives aligned with the bank's aspirational culture.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Proven expertise in conducting workplace investigations, conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing stakeholders at all organizational tiers.
  • Strong familiarity with employment law is advantageous, though extensive relevant experience may suffice.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to establish professional, calm relationships and partnerships throughout all levels of the company.
  • Experienced in delivering engaging, interactive training sessions for diverse audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree and proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Leadership and Development

  • Provide effective leadership and mentoring to both junior and senior team members alongside the Americas Head of Employee Relations, supporting their professional development.
  • Serve as a reliable partner to HR Business Partners, Advisors, and senior leaders by offering guidance on HR policies.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in team workflows, data analytics, and reporting processes.

Additional Information

The position is based in New York, NY, following the bank's hybrid work approach. The salary range for this role is $125,000 to $198,000 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, location, and other factors. This range excludes incentive pay or other compensation types.
