About the Role
Gopuff is hiring an Employee Relations Specialist II to join its People & Culture team in Concord, CA. This position acts as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for complex employee relations issues, with responsibility for conducting detailed workplace investigations and helping ensure alignment with company policies and employment law.
You will work closely with business leaders, the People & Culture team, and Legal to support a workplace that is fair, compliant, and inclusive.

Key Responsibilities
- Investigate complaints and concerns involving policy violations, workplace conditions, disciplinary matters, and employee grievances, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to recommend appropriate next steps for employee relations matters.
- Record investigation outcomes and prepare written summaries for storage in ThinkLP.
- Advise and coach managers at all levels on employee relations topics such as performance management, corrective action, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and terminations.
- Track compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and identify emerging employee relations or compliance risks so they can be addressed quickly.
- Handle additional related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- 6 to 8 years of human resources experience, including at least 2 years focused on employee relations, investigations, and field operations support.
- Experience supporting California-based operations and working knowledge of California employment laws.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional Spanish fluency preferred.
- Strong command of investigation processes from end to end, including interviewing, evidence collection, and summary writing, along with a solid understanding of U.S. employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, EEO, and Title VII.
- Demonstrated ability to coach employees and managers through difficult situations and recommend practical resolutions.
- Comfort working across departments and functions.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, organize work effectively, and use time efficiently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, show high emotional intelligence, and handle confidential information carefully.
- Strong analytical judgment and conflict-resolution skills, with a history of making fair and sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency with computers, email, and Google Workspace.
Compensation
This role includes eligibility for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in the company’s equity incentive plan. The base salary range is $90,000 to $120,000. Pay may vary depending on location, skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions.
