Job description

About SpaceX

SpaceX was created on the belief that a future with humans exploring space is far more compelling than one where we do not. The company is building the technologies needed to make that vision real, with the long-term aim of enabling life on Mars.

Role Overview

The Employee Experience Specialist will help shape a workplace where employees feel engaged, supported, and set up to do their best work. This position focuses on improving workplace culture through programs, systems, activities, and processes that strengthen satisfaction and connection across the employee journey. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and energized by helping people thrive in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, build-out, and delivery of employee experience programs and activities across SpaceX, including on-site social events, speaker sessions, and mentorship initiatives.
  • Coordinate holiday celebrations and company milestone events throughout the year, including SpaceX Anniversary, Veterans Day, Halloween, and similar occasions, with primary support for the Redmond and Woodinville locations and occasional travel to other sites when needed.
  • Assist with employee gifting, anniversary recognition, and appreciation programs across the company.
  • Support SpaceX employee communities by reviewing budget requests, helping expand local networks at each site, and training community leads.
  • Keep internal communication tools current, including the employee experience site, calendar, and weekly newsletters, in partnership with the Internal Communications Manager.
  • Monitor engagement, budget, and return on investment across all SpaceX locations.

Basic Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years of professional experience in human resources, event planning, or employee experience/culture roles; or 6+ years of experience supporting equity and inclusion initiatives, human resources, or employee experience/culture.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in employee inclusion or culture-focused work.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage several projects at once without close supervision.
  • Strong self-direction, prioritization, and strategic thinking.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic environment where priorities change quickly.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Prior experience planning events.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends when business needs require it.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to other SpaceX locations.

Compensation and Benefits

Level 1 base pay is expected to fall between $85,000 and $100,000 per year. Final compensation depends on role level and may be adjusted based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

In addition to base pay, the role may include long-term incentives such as company stock or long-term cash awards, discretionary bonuses, and access to an employee stock purchase plan with discounted stock purchases. Benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage; a 401(k) retirement plan; short- and long-term disability coverage; life insurance; paid parental leave; and other discounts and perks. Employees may accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and receive 10 or more paid holidays each year. Paid sick time is accrued in Washington State in line with applicable state and federal law. Company shuttles are available for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the Redmond office Monday through Friday.

ITAR and Work Authorization

To comply with U.S. export regulations, applicants must be one of the following: a U.S. citizen or national, a lawful permanent resident (green card holder), a refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, an asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158, or otherwise able to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State.

Equal Opportunity

SpaceX is an equal opportunity employer.
