Job description
Role overview
This is a dual-skilling opportunity within Group Risk and Private Medical Insurance (PMI) for an Employee Benefits Consultant based in Darwen, with hybrid working available after the probation period. The position offers a salary dependent on experience, along with a performance-related bonus scheme. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
You will join a market-leading healthcare business with a strong client-focused reputation and a culture that supports development and career progression. The role is designed for someone looking to deepen technical knowledge across two product areas while managing a portfolio of small to mid-sized clients.
What the role involves
From the outset, you will receive structured training, mentoring and a clear development path to help you build foundation skills and progress into a trusted subject matter expert. The role combines client management, product growth and relationship building across Group Risk and PMI.
Key duties
- Oversee and support a portfolio of Group Risk and PMI clients.
- Develop business within your existing portfolio while staying ahead of client needs.
- Handle client communication through Teams calls.
- Strengthen long-term relationships with both clients and insurers.
- Expand into new product lines and build expertise in both areas with full guidance.
- Keep client records accurate, compliant and up to date.
What you need
Applicants should already have experience in either Group Risk or PMI and be keen to learn the other product area. The role calls for confident communication, strong relationship-building ability, good organisation, attention to detail and comfort using Microsoft Office.
Development and benefits
Successful candidates will benefit from a supported dual-skilling pathway, training and ongoing coaching from experienced specialists, and genuine opportunities to progress across the wider organisation. The team is described as friendly, inclusive and focused on helping people succeed, with access to a broad range of employee benefits.
Additional information
The employer is committed to inclusion and equal opportunities, with a diversity, equity and inclusion approach that aims to create a workplace free from discrimination and supportive of people bringing their full selves to work. If an application is successful, employment checks will be carried out before start date, including verification of recent employment, address history, credit history and a standard criminal record check.
The employer may close the vacancy before the stated end date if enough suitable applications are received. A note is also included for recruiters and agencies that unsolicited CVs will not be paid for unless there is a signed agreement and written request for help on a specific opening.
