Role Overview

The position seeks a skilled Medical Coder or Senior Coder possessing active certifications such as CPC, CPC-A, CIC, CCS, or COC. The candidate must exhibit strong expertise in CPT and ICD coding standards to accurately validate and sequence codes upon reviewing medical documentation in compliance with governmental and insurance regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assign precise ICD and CPT codes to medical diagnoses and procedures.
• Clarify ambiguous or insufficient documentation by consulting healthcare providers.
• Collaborate with clinical personnel to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
• Conduct detailed research for complex or atypical coding cases.
• Review patient charts and documentation for correctness and completeness.
• Evaluate and code patient notes on a daily batch basis.
• Maintain and update coding references to ensure usage of current, active codes.

Requirements

• Graduation in any discipline.
• Between 1 and 7 years of medical coding experience.
• Certification from AHIMA or AAPC.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT code assignment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capability to work autonomously.
• Adaptability to hybrid working modes, including both office and remote settings, as demanded by business needs.
