Role Overview
As the HR Director based in Germany, you will spearhead the HR strategy and operations locally while contributing significantly to the EMEA HR leadership team. Your mandate includes driving people-related strategies, facilitating business expansion, and ensuring coherence with the global HR vision while accommodating the unique cultural and market aspects of Germany and the EMEA region. You will seek innovative avenues to amplify impactful outcomes, collaborate closely with country leadership, manage change effectively, and implement modern technologies including AI to revolutionize HR services across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise and execute comprehensive HR strategies in Germany, aligned with the EMEA and global HR frameworks to bolster local business expansion.
- Engage with country leaders and regional partners to provide visionary HR counsel and lead people-focused initiatives that support organizational objectives.
- Direct organizational structure redesign and change management efforts to boost agility, enhance performance, and drive employee engagement amid transitions.
- Manage all operational HR functions including payroll, benefits, data accuracy, and systems like Workday to ensure compliance and precision.
- Act as a reliable advisor on complex employee relations issues, ensuring legal compliance, resolving disputes, and steering performance management processes.
- Develop and implement employee engagement, wellbeing, and listening programs using analytics to enhance the workforce experience.
- Advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles by embedding equitable practices in recruitment, talent development, and work culture.
- Explore and utilize AI and AI-enabled HR tools for process optimization, workflow automation, and informed decision-making.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR with leadership exposure at the regional or country level in a multinational environment.
- In-depth knowledge of German labor legislation, compliance requirements, and employment practices complemented with expertise in global HR processes.
- Proven capabilities in strategic HR leadership, organizational design, change management, and nurturing employee engagement during growth or transformation phases.
- Proficient in HR information systems such as Workday and advanced data analytics using Excel, leveraging these skills for strategic insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, demonstrating resilience, empathy, and collaboration when working with business leaders.
- Fluency in both German and English languages.
Preferred but Not Required
- Experience with HR across the broader EMEA region, including mainland Europe, Nordics, or MEA.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled HR technologies and automation.
- Background in fast-paced, high-growth settings or dynamic agency environments.
