Job description

Overview

This role involves supporting the Emerging Markets (EM) Trading and Global Markets Division (GMD) team in managing trading risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The position requires assisting with trading and client requirements, particularly for Interest Rate Derivatives (IRD), FX swap, and other related products, while maintaining adherence to authorized trading limits and risk parameters.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain current knowledge of GMD products and functions to effectively assist the trading team.
  • Execute trades accurately in line with risk management protocols and approved risk limits when required.
  • Contribute to providing daily pricing support for EM Trading and GMD products globally.
  • Stay informed on economic and financial developments that influence the markets.
  • Prepare accurate product pricing for new instruments and specific client deals, ensuring appropriate compensation for principal risk and balance sheet usage.
  • Enter all executed trades accurately and promptly into the Front Office System, validating trade data timely.
  • Price and execute client transactions within the assigned market segment diligently.
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded timely in front office trading systems following established procedures.
  • Actively address and resolve trade discrepancies flagged by Back Office teams.
  • Report regularly to the EM Trading/GMD Team leader or LGMD Singapore concerning business progress and issues.
  • Uphold strict compliance with position, market, counterparty, and cashflow risk limits.
  • Assist in balancing cash flows across currencies, ensuring that cash holdings remain within authorized thresholds.
  • Adhere to all relevant legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including Financial Crime prevention and reporting standards specific to Singapore, London, and Hong Kong jurisdictions.
  • Comply with dealing room conduct guidelines set by GMD.
  • Complete mandatory training to maintain the necessary competency and qualification for the role.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably in Mathematics, Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Candidates should possess less than 2 years of professional experience.
  • Familiarity with market fundamentals, and some exposure to trading and risk management of trading books is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills combined with the capability to grasp financial derivatives, including concepts like market liquidity and price volatility.
  • Ability to rapidly assess situations, exercise sound judgment, and prioritize in a dynamic trading environment.
