About the Role

Wolf Branch Elementary School in Wingate, England is seeking a dedicated Grade 4 Elementary Teacher committed to enriching students' academic knowledge, social skills, and daily living capabilities by delivering the district-approved curriculum. The position reports to the building principal and follows a 182-day work calendar. Salary ranges from $46,280 to $54,211 annually, based on degree credentials and experience level, with the district recognizing all prior certified full-time teaching experience for salary placement. Benefits and board-paid TRS contributions are included.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging, daily quality instruction tailored to meet individual student goals and curriculum standards.
  • Design meaningful learning experiences aligned with district objectives to foster student knowledge and skills.
  • Conduct continuous student assessments and adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Administer standardized testing and diagnostic evaluations to identify learning challenges and develop corrective actions.
  • Participate actively in conferences to discuss student needs and progress.
  • Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior management plans alongside staff and students.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with district protocols and legal requirements, including student information for colleges and employers.
  • Promote parental involvement and ensure clear communication with students and their families.
  • Manage classroom resources by selecting and ordering instructional materials and maintaining inventory.
  • Create a safe, positive, and disciplined learning environment consistent with school policies.
  • Work collaboratively with professional peers, including co-teaching when assigned.
  • Encourage student participation as responsible community members upholding democratic values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Holds a valid Illinois Professional Educators License with Elementary endorsement.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an education-related discipline relevant to the assignment.
  • Applied knowledge of instructional theories, assessment methods, and differentiated instruction based on learning styles.
  • Familiarity with data systems, analysis, and educational action planning.
  • Understanding of applicable federal and state educational laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and relevant software applications for educational purposes.
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Capacity for self-assessment and commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Ability to foster cooperative working relationships within the school community.
