Job description
Role overview
The York Region District School Board is seeking a Grade 6 homeroom teacher for a long-term occasional assignment at CEC: East in Markham, Ontario. This position is full-time and takes place onsite. The assignment may be extended up to the original end date of the LTO.
Compensation
Pay will follow the current ETFO Elementary Teacher Collective Agreement and will be adjusted based on FTE, QECO rating, and years of experience, in line with applicable collective agreement terms.

Responsibilities
The teacher will support student learning and success in a Grade 6 homeroom setting and contribute to the board’s public education mission. The role is part of a team that helps create a positive learning environment for students.

Eligibility and requirements
- Applicants must be members in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, or be in the process of becoming OCT-qualified before the start date.
- External applicants must provide at least three professional, supervisory teaching references in the screening section of the online application, including each referee’s full name, job title, workplace or organization, and email address.
- Internal YRDSB employees must include all prior teaching experience and provide two references, one of which must be a YRDSB administrator.
- A satisfactory police record check is required for successful candidates.
- Referees may include a principal or vice-principal, a faculty advisor or practicum advisor, a host or mentor teacher, or another professional reference who can speak to teaching practice.

Additional notes
