Job description
Job Overview
The role involves planning, designing, reviewing, and preparing electrical drawings and specifications for waste-to-energy projects. It requires close coordination with authorities for necessary consultations and submissions. The candidate will perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses including short circuit current evaluations, fault contributions to the grid network, motor starting and transient assessments, harmonics evaluation, and sizing of electrical equipment and cables.
A key responsibility includes leading a team of electrical and instrumentation & control automation engineers to execute design tasks efficiently. The role also demands interaction with clients to present design concepts and philosophies, along with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges that may surface during project execution.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical and automated control system design within power plants or waste management facilities, focusing on large-scale power generation and waste management projects.
- Proven expertise in planning and designing large waste management and water treatment facilities.
- Comprehensive experience in electrical distribution network design ranging from extra high voltage to low voltage, including but not limited to switchgears, transformers, motor control centers, distribution boards, control panels, emergency power systems including standby and black start power, neutral-ground reactors/resistors, cable and raceways, protection devices, and meters.
- Strong background in balance of plant electrical network design for power plants and waste management facilities.
- Familiarity with Singapore’s local codes, practices, and regulatory standards for extra high voltage and high voltage grid connections especially for electricity export purposes.
- Professional Engineer licensure with the PE Board Singapore and possession of a Licensed Electrical Worker certification of at least grade 9 is advantageous.
