About the Role
For the Johannes-Lau-Hof daycare center in Hanover-Vahrenwald, a childcare position is available as soon as possible. The assignment is temporary until 01.04.2027 as parental leave cover, with the possibility of continued employment afterward. The role is offered by an experienced, broad-based, non-denominational social welfare organization.
Role Focus
The position may be filled by qualified applicants such as educators, social pedagogical assistants, childcare workers, special needs educators, or specialists in inclusive support. The work takes place in an open-concept childcare setting.
Tasks and Day-to-Day Work
- Provide educational and care-related support to children in daily practice
- Prepare and maintain documentation
- Work closely with parents and families
- Contribute actively, collaboratively, and responsibly within the team
- Cooperate with other institutions in the neighborhood and district
- Plan and carry out individual and group activities
- Take part in team meetings and reflection sessions at group and overall team level
- Participate in quality development processes
- Cover early and late shifts when required
Working Time
The weekly working time is 22.00 hours.

What the Employer Expects
- Enthusiasm for and experience in educational work with children
- Experience with the situational approach and the Early Excellence observation method
- The ability to act as a sensitive, approachable adult for children and as a competent contact person for parents
- Knowledge of internal child protection procedures and Section 8a of the German Social Code Book VIII
- Understanding of child participation and involvement
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a team-oriented, trust-based way within an open pedagogical concept
