About the Role
Sheldon College invites applications for the role of Educational Leader within its Early Learning Centre Leadership Team. This critical pedagogical position involves steering the creation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of exemplary educational practices across the Wonderland Long Day Care, Kindergarten, and Our Place OSHC programs. Reporting to the Director of Early Learning, you will champion exemplary teaching and learning standards, guide curriculum choices, mentor educators through reflective practice, and ensure that children’s interests, capabilities, and identities inform educational programs. You will also undertake the responsibilities of Kindergarten Nominated Supervisor and actively engage in collaborative planning, quality assurance, community partnership development, and the reinforcement of a shared pedagogical philosophy.

Candidate Profile
- Possess a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education or its equivalent
- Proven leadership experience in pedagogical practices within early childhood education settings
- In-depth knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), Reggio Emilia approach, and the College’s inquiry-based learning model
- Familiarity with the National Quality Framework including demonstrated success in meeting or surpassing National Quality Standards
- Capacity to mentor and inspire educators to consistently apply high-quality practices across all age groups
- Skilled in documentation, reflective practice, curriculum planning, and making learning achievements visible
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills capable of fostering positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Highly collaborative, diplomatic, adaptable, and dedicated to continuous improvement
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and lead institution-wide pedagogical initiatives
- Proficient with digital documentation tools such as StoryPark and adaptable to new technology systems
- Hold current Blue Card or Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration
- Maintain up-to-date certifications in First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis
- Completion of recognised Child Protection training (CHCPRT units)
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and advocate for pedagogical excellence by ensuring the genuine application of EYLF, QKLG, Reggio Emilia principles, and the inquiry-based approach throughout the centre
- Support educators in effective documentation, planning, reflective practices, and ongoing professional development
- Enhance inclusive, secure, and nurturing environments that respect dignity, equity, and child agency
- Serve as Kindergarten Nominated Supervisor ensuring superior program delivery and compliance
- Partner with the Director of Early Learning and centre leadership to maintain quality standards, planning, and evaluation
- Contribute to service quality improvement plans and strengthen the centre’s collective pedagogical identity and evolution
- Cultivate strong connections with families and facilitate participation, communication, and engagement with the wider community
- Support smooth transitions and orientation processes and encourage engagement with outdoor learning spaces
