Role Overview

The Education Specialist I supports educational initiatives for people and families affected by inherited blood and bleeding disorders. This position partners with internal teams, chapters, healthcare partners, volunteers, consultants, and other stakeholders to plan, coordinate, deliver, and assess educational programs. The role reports to the Senior Manager of Education and focuses on building health education, risk prevention, and community capacity through engaging learning experiences.

Primary Duties

The role combines program administration, event coordination, content development, and cross-functional collaboration. It includes organizing educational events, supporting speaker and participant coordination, developing learning materials in multiple formats, and helping measure program effectiveness.

Administration and Evaluation

• Assist with reviewing educational program outcomes by collecting feedback, tracking results, and supporting reporting.
• Provide operational support so programs run efficiently and on time, including handling contracts, invoice review, payment processing, and feedback collection.
• Keep supervisors and collaborators updated on progress, deadlines, priorities, and any issues that may affect delivery.

Event and Program Delivery

• Help deliver live education events by arranging logistics, identifying speakers, and coordinating participants.
• Work with chapters and Hemophilia Treatment Centers to support local education efforts by responding to needs, arranging speakers, managing travel, and handling agreements.
• Lead or support workshops and presentations at regional and national gatherings.
• Recruit and coordinate volunteers, working groups, planning committees, and participants, including scheduling meetings and supporting follow-up actions.
• Coordinate communication and day-to-day activities among internal staff, volunteers, speakers, consultants, and community partners to keep initiatives moving smoothly.

Content Development and Collaboration

• Create and tailor educational content for presentations, workshops, printed materials, videos, and digital resources for both virtual and in-person audiences.
• Work with consultants and subject matter experts to draft, review, and improve materials so they are accurate, easy to access, and engaging.
• Partner with colleagues across departments and outside stakeholders to help design, promote, and deliver educational programming.

Working Environment and Travel

This position is fully remote and open to candidates anywhere in the United States. The selected candidate should be comfortable working with a distributed team across the country. Some domestic travel is required, including overnight trips, weekends, and attendance at the annual Bleeding Disorders Conference.

Compensation

The starting base salary for this role is $52,000 to $57,000 per year. This range is fixed and non-negotiable to support internal pay equity.
