We recognize the intrinsic link between animal and human wellbeing and offer care and support to benefit both, promoting a brighter future for our community.

Your daily activities could range from conducting interactive lessons for primary schools to facilitating sessions for TAFE or university students, creating new educational materials, and representing AWLQ at community events. You will collaborate with a dynamic team to develop evidence-based, engaging programs tailored to the needs of Queensland communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver innovative education, training, or community learning programs.
  • Present confidently to diverse audiences, including school children and adult learners.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences using effective communication skills.
  • Organize multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Foster positive collaborations with schools, TAFE, universities, community organisations, and key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in community education, teaching, health promotion, community development, or the not-for-profit sector is highly valued.
  • Strong ability to connect with people and create meaningful learning experiences.
  • Excellent facilitation and communication skills for a wide range of audiences.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities with strong organisational skills.
  • A collaborative team player who is passionate about community education.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning, innovation, and improving wellbeing.
  • Experience related to animal welfare is a plus though not essential.

Benefits and Work Environment

  • A fulfilling role that positively affects community wellbeing.
  • Opportunities to innovate and lead in education program delivery.
  • Supportive, collaborative, and value-driven team culture.
  • Access to professional development and continuous learning.
  • Flexible work schedules including part-time options tailored to suitable candidates.
  • Chance to contribute significantly to enhancing the lives of people and their companion animals across Queensland.
