Role Purpose

The Education Counselor provides guidance, advice, and assistance in processing applications for international students seeking educational placements in UAE institutions, primarily focusing on Australia and New Zealand. This role involves promoting IDP's offerings directly to students, supporting sales goals, and delivering outstanding customer support including referrals beyond admission services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide prospective students to select appropriate courses and institutions aligned with their career goals.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings and phone consultations to clearly communicate program details and admissions criteria tailored to individual student requirements.
  • Help students efficiently shortlist education options, optimizing counseling time and resources.
  • Assist in managing the entire admissions journey including visa processing and pre-departure formalities.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with students and their families to position IDP as a trusted, professional advisor.
  • Maintain ethical standards and integrity in all dealings with clients, colleagues, and institutions.
  • Achieve conversion targets by advancing students through application submissions and securing enrollment offers.
  • Identify and cultivate new lead sources, including schools, universities, and scholarship organizations.
  • Use CRM tools to track and manage the counseling workflow, leads, and sales pipeline effectively.
  • Collaborate with management to explore new business opportunities and maintain key account relationships.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries via face-to-face, phone, or email communications.
  • Process applications, obtain offers, and ensure timely enrollment completion.
  • Coordinate with educational institutions to facilitate efficient application processing.
  • Provide support for students after arrival and refer them to appropriate services if needed.
  • Forge partnerships with network counselors for ongoing student support locally.
  • Attend client meetings, workshops, and educational institution visits to enhance knowledge and professional connections.
  • Work with business and marketing managers to develop targeted promotional strategies and support major events such as interviews and exhibitions.
  • Recommend marketing initiatives to boost student recruitment.
  • Engage with student associations and other channels to promote IDP's services.
  • Analyze local market opportunities and challenges to inform strategy.
  • Participate actively in team meetings to share expertise and foster collaboration.
  • Identify synergies between student placement and IELTS operations to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain ongoing follow-up with students and institutions to confirm enrollment progress.
  • Utilize diverse communication platforms, including CRM, SMS, email, and phone to interact with stakeholders effectively.
  • Provide regular status reports to supervisors detailing achievements and obstacles.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven experience working in a sales-oriented environment with focus on meeting individual and team targets.
  • Knowledgeable about education institutions, admissions protocols, visa/immigration requirements, and international education landscapes.
  • Excellent communication abilities adaptable to diverse audiences such as students, parents, institutional representatives, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Dedication to providing exceptional, customer-focused service.
  • Capable of building and maintaining impactful professional relationships.
  • Collaborative team player who contributes positively to collective goals.
  • Proactive problem solver with sound judgment and ethical decision-making.
